Attach a decorative element to a slab

Apply your score-and-slip skills to something that looks good.

The task

  1. Roll a small slab tile (~10×10 cm)
  2. Create a decorative element: a coil spiral, a pressed leaf shape, a little clay medallion, whatever you like
  3. Attach it to the tile using proper score-and-slip technique
  4. Let it dry completely

The real test

If it survives drying without popping off, you did it right. Bonus points if it survives bisque firing intact.

Common failure mode

Not scoring deep enough, or using slip that's too watery. Score like you mean it: deep crosshatches. Slip should be thick like yogurt.
