Terms of Service

Effective date: May 22, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Claybook mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Mario Iannotta ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using Claybook, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Claybook. Claybook is not directed to children under 13, and you must not create an account or submit personal information to our servers if you are under 13.

If you are between 13 and 17, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law. We do not verify your age at registration. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these age requirements.

2. The Service

Claybook is a pottery studio companion app that provides structured lessons, craft logging, and reference tools for potters. Some features require a paid subscription called Claybook Pro. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

Lessons and tools are for educational and reference purposes only. Pottery involves physical materials, tools, and kiln firing that carry inherent risks. You are solely responsible for safe studio practices and for verifying techniques, materials, and firing schedules before use.

3. Accounts

You may use Claybook without an account for basic local functionality. Creating an account lets you sync data across devices and access cloud backup features. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity under your Claybook account. You must provide accurate information.

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. See our Privacy Policy for details on what data is deleted.

4. Claybook Pro subscription plans

Claybook Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks premium features, including all lessons, tools, and future Pro features. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the Service or its content.

Billing and auto-renewal

Restore purchases

If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use the "Restore purchases" option in the app to restore an active Claybook Pro subscription tied to the same store account.

EU and UK consumers

If you are a consumer in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days of purchase. By subscribing and accessing Claybook Pro content immediately, you acknowledge that performance begins right away and, where permitted by law, you may lose your withdrawal right once digital content is made available. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable local law remain unaffected.

5. User content

You may create and store content in Claybook, including craft logs, notes, photos, and profile information ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, back up, and display your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

You are responsible for your User Content and must not upload anything unlawful, infringing, or harmful. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

7. Intellectual property

Claybook, including its design, lessons, text, graphics, and software, is owned by Mario Iannotta and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our branding, content, or code except as needed to use the Service.

8. Third-party services

Claybook uses third-party services to operate, including Firebase (authentication, storage, and database), RevenueCat (subscription management), and analytics providers. Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account from Profile → Delete account in the app.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mario Iannotta shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $10.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such limitation is prohibited.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the country where Mario Iannotta operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you may also benefit from mandatory protections of the laws of your country of residence.
