Throw a mug body (350 g)

A mug is a short cylinder with personality. The shape you throw now determines how it will feel in someone's hand.

From 350 g, throw a mug body:

Specifications

• About 9 cm tall
• Slight taper outward at the lip (more comfortable to drink from)
• Walls about 5 mm thick
• Leave enough clay at the base for trimming a foot ring later

Think about

• Would this feel good to wrap your hands around?
• Is the diameter right for a comfortable grip? (7–8 cm is typical)
• Is the rim smooth enough to drink from?

This form will later get a handle, a foot ring, and glaze. Give it good bones.
