Throw a set of three matching bowls
Welcome to production throwing. This is where craft meets discipline.
Throw three bowls from 500 g each that match in:
- Diameter at the rim
- Height
- Wall thickness
- Curve profile
Method
- Measure the first bowl with calipers or a ruler
- Match subsequent bowls to those measurements
- Line all three up when done: they should look like a set
What this teaches
Consistency isn't about being a robot. It's about understanding the relationship between pressure, speed, and clay response well enough to repeat what you did.
If bowl 3 matches bowl 1 more closely than bowl 2 does, you're learning.
